LREM candidate in Strasbourg Alain Fontanel announced his intention to file a complaint this Wednesday after the discovery of one of the leaflets in the mailbox of his home. "My 10-year-old daughter found this leaflet when she opened the mailbox this morning," said the candidate on his Facebook page, with a photo.

The elected official, also first deputy to the mayor of Strasbourg "considers that a milestone has been clearly reached in the context of municipal elections" and refers to "an act of intimidation and threat" in [his] private space, where [his] family lives ”. He announced his intention to file a complaint in the process.

In Alsace, homes of elected officials and public buildings (town halls, etc.) have been regularly the target of hateful, racist or anti-Semitic tags for several months. Jewish cemeteries were also desecrated, including that of Westhoffen, last December.
