Earlier, US President Donald Trump presented a plan for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The 80-page document provides for the creation of two independent states, including a Palestinian one with a capital in part of East Jerusalem.

It was later reported that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas at a meeting of the UN Security Council will present a resolution against the US plan for a Middle East settlement.
