The rebellious, communist and socialist deputies are ready to table a joint censure motion against the government for its pension reform plan, mid-February or end of February, we learned from their groups on Wednesday.

After their examination in committee, the reform bills will pass in the hemicycle from February 17 and for at least two weeks.

"The deputies would fail in their duty if they did not use all the possible weapons to delay the final decision," LFI deputies boss Jean-Luc Mélenchon told BFMTV, who on the first mid-January proposed a motion to left censorship.

To be able to be tabled, such a motion must gather 58 signatures among the 577 deputies, or at least the three groups on the left.

On Saturday, Mr. Mélenchon reiterated his proposal, but this time to "all the opposition groups". The Republicans do not intend to rally, but the president of the RN and member of the Pas-de-Calais Marine Le Pen did not rule out voting for such a motion.

"We will read it, we will look at its content" and "we will do everything in our power as a member of parliament to prevent this text from applying to French people," she told LCI.

More than 100 censure motions have been tabled since 1958. Only one was adopted in 1962, bringing down the government of Georges Pompidou.

"With the two other left groups, an agreement was reached to use all the procedural arsenal available to parliamentarians: referendum motion, censure motion," tweeted PS group president Valérie Rabault, after a joint meeting on Tuesday, called to renew itself.

The referendum motion was put on the table by the Communists. "We have to go through the referendum to get out of this deadlock situation", considers the number one of the PCF Fabien Roussel. Such a motion, which also requires 58 signatures, could also be considered in mid-February, at the start of the debates in the hemicycle.

"We will assume that we are obstructing" and "our duty is to resist by all possible means first because of our link to the workers 'and workers' movement, and then also for the honor of parliamentary office" , considers Mr. Mélenchon.

In addition to these motions, will be on the menu hundreds of amendments, motion of rejection or reference, and still referral to the Constitutional Council, according to parliamentary sources.
