  • As in Bordeaux, Toulouse will have a list of the New Anti-Capitalist Party (NPA).
  • The “Toulouse anti-capitalist” list puts at the heart of its campaign the defense of public services, but also free access for all in transport and canteens.
  • To finance these proposals, activists plan to stop "unnecessary projects" like the third metro line.

A breakthrough program, whether with the outgoing mayor, Jean-Luc Moudenc (LR, supported LREM), where the lists that are positioned on the left, "all from the former majority of PIerre Cohen". This is the position posted on Wednesday by Toulouse activists from the NPA who officially launched their "Toulouse anti-capitalist" list.

At its head, Pauline Salingue, engaged in the defense of the public hospital, but also on the ground against pension reform. “We start a little late because we are in a period of intense struggle. But these municipal elections are not detached from the national plan, Moudenc is the representative of Macron ”, says the educator within the CHU of Toulouse.

For her, the outgoing mayor “attacked the working classes” throughout his mandate, in particular by abolishing free service in the canteens, by implementing a policy of “gentrification of certain districts, pushing the most precarious out from the city center "or by taking" its anti-camp decree ".

Stop of the third metro line

In response, the “Toulouse anti-capitalist” list suggests making the canteen free for everyone, as well as transport or the first cubic meters of water or kilowatt-hours. Water and sanitation management would be re-municipalized. “The city is sold off to property developers, we will put in place a municipal control over the constructions. We will requisition vacant homes and stop evictions and power cuts. We will also cap rents, ”explains Nicolas Mousset, number 2 on the list which will be completed by February 7.

To finance these measures, NPA activists plan to remove video surveillance or put an end to "unnecessary projects, such as the third metro line". And as the fight remains the heart of the reactor, if they arrive at the helm, they will create a municipal support fund for strikers, which will serve as a support fund for employees of companies that close.

If by chance, they do not respect their commitments, they propose to set up "the dismissal of elected officials at any time, by referendum".
