In Lebanon, anger does not weaken. Dozens of demonstrators gathered this Monday at the entrances of the avenues leading to the Parliament to try to prevent the holding of the session for the vote of the 2020 budget. The protest movement which targets a corrupt political class does not give up despite police repression. Leila Molana-Allen, our correspondent in Beirut, met a protester injured after clashes with the police.

Finally, last week, Turkey was struck by a violent earthquake measuring 6.7 in the east of the country. The balance sheet shows that at least 35 people have died. Much of Turkey is located in a highly seismic area. Authorities in Istanbul seek to protect the megalopolis and its 16 million inhabitants from the next big earthquake.
