Chinese President Xi Jinping said that his country was waging a dangerous battle against the new Corona virus, which he described as a "demon", and pledged transparency in government efforts to contain the disease, while the number of deaths in China from the virus had risen to 106.

"The epidemic is a demon, and we cannot leave it in hiding, as long as the Chinese government has adopted an open, transparent and responsible attitude, to reveal as quickly as possible information about the epidemic," he said in an interview with the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanum Gabrios.

For his part, Gabrios expressed his confidence in China's ability to contain the new Corona virus, called for calm, and said that he does not support the evacuation of foreign nationals from China, and stressed that he agreed with the measures taken by the Chinese government to curb the spread of the virus.

In addition, the National Health Committee of China announced yesterday that the number of deaths due to the Corona virus has risen to 106, and indicated that the total number of confirmed cases in the country rose to 4,515 cases.

The public transportation company in the capital, Beijing, through its account on the "Weibo" website, announced that it would suspend most bus services to the neighboring Hubei region, where the virus appeared, as of yesterday, to contain the spread of the virus.

Cases of the flu-like virus appeared in more countries, most recently Sri Lanka and Germany, but no deaths occurred outside China, and Chinese experts said yesterday that exposure to sneezing and coughing an infected person is "the main method of transmission."

The European Union has activated its internal system of rapid warning to share information, as it monitors the outbreak of the new Corona virus, after the first cases of conglomerations appeared in France and Germany.
