“The election of Peter Tolstoy to the post of deputy chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will allow the assembly to be developed as a real inter-parliamentary platform for constructive dialogue,” the State Duma press service quoted Volodin as saying.
According to him, Tolstoy consistently upholds the interests of Russia at international sites.
Earlier in the vote, Tolstoy was elected vice speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
