US President Donald Trump, at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, announced on Tuesday his proposed plan for peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

"Today is a big step towards peace," Trump said, adding that his vision for peace is completely different from what was presented in the past, and it consists of 80 pages, describing it in the most comprehensive plan presented so far.

Trump revealed that the plan includes "working to achieve a geographical connection between the territories of Palestinian states."

He added that his vision "provides an opportunity for the two parties within the two-state solution." He stressed that Jerusalem will remain "an undivided capital."

He stressed that "the Palestinian people deserve an opportunity to improve their future."

The US President made it clear that "crafting peace between Israel and the Palestinians is a difficult and complex task."

Netanyahu had said that "the deal of the century is the opportunity of the century and we will not miss it." Israeli opposition leader Benny Gantz also hailed it as an "important, historic event" and said he would work to implement it immediately after a general election in which Netanyahu would compete in March.
