US President Donald Trump announced, in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at the White House yesterday evening, his proposed plan for peace between Israelis and Palestinians, saying that his vision "provides an opportunity for the Palestinian and Israeli parties within the two-state solution," adding that Jerusalem will remain " An undivided capital of Israel », and a safe and open city for all religions.

"Today is a big step towards peace," Trump said, adding that his vision for peace is very different from what was presented in the past, and it consists of 80 pages, describing it with the most comprehensive plan presented so far.

"Israel is taking a step toward peace, and the Palestinians deserve an opportunity for a better life, and the proposed peace plan between Israelis and Palestinians is a strong path forward," he added.

He affirmed, "This is the first time that Israel has permitted the publication of a proposed map of the Israeli-Palestinian peace plan," explaining that his plan states that Jerusalem "will remain an undivided capital of Israel", and "a safe and open city for all religions."

Trump said that the Middle East peace plan offers a realistic two-state solution, adding that the next Palestinian state will be "connected" to the territories.

The US President said that the plan "will double the Palestinian lands and provide a capital for their state."

Trump believes that his plan may be the "last chance" for the Palestinians.

However, he said that a future Palestinian state "will only be established under several conditions, including (an explicit rejection of attacks), and there could be a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem." He added that Washington was "ready to recognize Israeli sovereignty over occupied lands", which he did not specify.

Trump added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told him that "the proposed plan will be the basis for direct negotiations."

Trump said he had assured Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, in a message, on Tuesday, that "Washington would stand by him if he decided to go ahead with the plan."

He stressed that "the Palestinian people deserve an opportunity to improve their future," and that he wanted this plan to "provide the Palestinians with a historic opportunity to establish their state."

He explained that "drafting peace between Israel and the Palestinians is a difficult and complex task."

On the economic side of the plan, Trump said that "the new plan will provide $ 50 billion to the Palestinians."

Senior administration officials have told Reuters that the plan includes a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians, and that Israel has agreed to negotiate on the basis of a proposed detailed map.

Israel also agreed to establish a state for the Palestinians, dependent on the security agreement to protect the Israelis, and Israel pledged to respect the historic role of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the role of Jordan in relation to the holy places, with the aim of allowing Muslims to visit the mosque, according to US administration officials.

The plan includes the United States recognizing Israeli settlements in the West Bank, and Israel agreeing to freeze settlement activity for a period of four years, while negotiating the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The plan says that "the establishment of a Palestinian state depends on Palestinian respect for human rights, freedom of the press, and the existence of an impartial and reliable judiciary."

The plan states that "Jerusalem is an undivided capital of Israel", and a safe and open city for all religions.

Trump's plan also calls for Palestinian refugees to be able to return to a Palestinian state in the future, and to create a "generous compensation fund."

The plan included "connecting the proposed Palestinian state with roads, bridges and tunnels in order to link Gaza and the West Bank."

A few hours before it was announced, a source close to the peace team familiar with the US President's peace plan, known as the "Deal of the Century" and surrounded by complete secrecy for three years, said that information indicates that the plan includes a two-state solution, a Palestinian state alongside a state Israel.

The plan will also maintain the current status of the Noble Sanctuary, under the supervision of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The whole plan, which was worked on by the peace team, led by President Bush's adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, was discussed by Trump with Netanyahu, and his electoral rival, leader of the "White Blue" party, Benny Gantz, and did not discuss it with the Palestinians.

In Ramallah, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas described the US President's Middle East peace plan as a "conspiracy." Addressing Trump and Netanyahu, he said that the rights of the Palestinian people "are not for sale."

Abbas said in a televised speech that he was telling Trump and Netanyahu that "Jerusalem is not for sale, and all our rights are not for sale and bargaining, and the conspiracy deal will not pass."

The Palestinian envoy to Britain, Hossam Zamelat, said that Trump's peace plan in the Middle East effectively gives Israel the green light to establish an apartheid state. "This is a political circus," he said. "It is a sad political play."

In Gaza, the Hamas official, Sami Abu Zuhri, described the US President's statements about his plan for peace in the Middle East as "aggressive." He said his proposals on Jerusalem were "empty." Abu-Zuhri said, "Trump's aggressive statements will spark great anger."

He added that «his statements about Jerusalem are empty, have no value, and Jerusalem will remain the land of the Palestinians».

Netanyahu had said that "the deal of the century is the opportunity of the century, and we will not miss it." Israeli opposition leader Benny Gantz also hailed her as "an important, historic event" and said he would work to implement it immediately, after a general election in which Netanyahu would compete in March.

Hours before the announcement of the "Deal of the Century", Palestinian and Israeli media reported that Israel imposed strict security measures in the West Bank.

The Palestinian News and Information Agency (Wafa) stated that "the Israeli occupation forces closed the Jit military checkpoint linking the north and south of the West Bank, and prevented vehicles from crossing into and out of Nablus, which caused a suffocating traffic crisis."

On the other hand, dozens of Palestinian students were suffocated yesterday by inhaling tear gas, after clashes with Israeli forces in the Arroub camp, north of Hebron.

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) quoted local sources as saying that "the occupation soldiers fired tear gas intensively towards the students who came out to condemn the (deal of the century), which led to dozens of cases of suffocation."

In Gaza, more than 3,000 Palestinians demonstrated against the Trump plan, which was rejected by the Palestinian side.

The demonstrators roamed the streets of Gaza City, shouting "No no to the deal," and "The deal will not pass."

Several marches were also launched, in which hundreds participated in cities and camps in the Gaza Strip against the Trump plan.

Trump: The 80-page peace plan is the most detailed of all.

The plan includes working to achieve a geographical connection between the lands of the Palestinian state, and linking it with roads and bridges between Gaza and the West Bank.

Dozens of Palestinians were injured in clashes with Israeli forces in Hebron ... and thousands protest in Gaza against the Trump plan.

An emergency meeting of the Arab League in the presence of Abbas next Saturday

The Ambassador of Palestine in Cairo and its permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Diab al-Louh, announced yesterday that Palestine has officially requested an extraordinary session of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, to discuss ways to confront the American plan for peace in the Middle East, known Medialy, "The Deal of the Century".

The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) quoted Al-Louh as saying that "the meeting scheduled for next Saturday comes at a time of great importance, which requires a unified Arab position, to confront all plans to absent the Palestinian national cause, eliminate the principle of a two-state solution, and opportunities to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state The entire territory of the state of Palestine, which was occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, approved by international conventions, charters, and resolutions.

The Palestinian "Foreign Ministry": "Deal of the Century" is an American translation of the Balfour Declaration

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a statement yesterday that "the content of (the deal of the century) does not exceed being an American translation of the Balfour Declaration, and an old Israeli idea with new American clothing that calls for the establishment of a Palestinian entity in the Gaza Strip and the imposition of full Israeli control over the occupied West Bank."

The ministry added, "The deal treats the Palestinian issue as a population problem that needs economic relief in the sense of economic peace, which has long been sung by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which was rejected and rejected by the Palestinian leadership for years."

She made it clear that the Palestinian leadership held onto peace as a strategic option, which prompted it to permanently engage in Arab and international efforts and initiatives, which was what Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was keen on in his positive dealings with US President Donald Trump, since he entered the White House, especially with regard to his disclosure in The beginning of his reign from his intentions to make a serious effort to achieve peace between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

She said that, "As a continuation of the American adoption of the positions of the occupation and settlements, Trump spoke of his belief that there is an opportunity for the success of the so-called (deal of the century), knowing that what leaked of its terms and content does not give from near or far any opportunity for the Palestinian side to engage positively with it."

The ministry condemned the "Trump-Netanyahu" plan, considering it an old new plot to liquidate the entire Palestinian issue, and an attempt to write off the just and legitimate national rights of our people, foremost of which is its right to self-determination, return, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with its capital East Jerusalem Occupied.
