Radio profile: "A whole life that burns down"

The old wooden house that started burning during the night until Tuesday at Björkholmen in Karlskrona could not be saved.

- My thoughts go to those affected, says Lisa Syrén.

The house was built in the 19th century and the whole of Björkholmen is known for its old wooden houses.

- I hope that such an event can make the municipality understand how important the security of such old houses is and how vulnerable we who live here are, says Lisa Syrén.

She says that the village team organizes fire protection meetings every year.

- They don't usually be so well-attended. But this year I would guess that many will come, says Lisa Syrén.

Lisa Syrén says that everyone she talked to in the area has offered to open up their homes to those affected.

- This is how people show their helpfulness in times of need, she says.
