“Very constructive negotiations. The negotiations, which, it seems to me, were crowned by such a friendly conversation, a friendly discussion. It is very pleasant when the people who participate in this discussion, our colleagues - deputies of the Bundestag - know the subject, understand well what is happening in Ukraine and take positions that today are akin to many millions of Ukrainian citizens who really, truly want peace. ”, - he said following the meeting.

As Medvedchuk pointed out, the advance of the world, "which has been talked about for more than five years and which, unfortunately, has not yet come."

“Therefore, the presentation of our peace plan, our discussion, the questions and answers that were voiced, they indicate that our colleagues in the Bundestag are ready for this,” he added.

At a meeting with German parliamentarians and representatives of diplomatic and business circles, Medvedchuk expressed the view that “finding a denominator that will help a peaceful settlement” will be allowed by the initiative of an inter-parliamentary dialogue in the “Norman format”, TASS reports.

According to him, in the current situation a lot depends on the Verkhovna Rada that it is she who “must adopt those legislative acts that are the basis, the foundation of the Minsk agreements”.

In December, Russian leader Vladimir Putin supported the idea of organizing inter-parliamentary dialogue in the Norman format.

In the summer of 2019, Medvedchuk presented in the European Parliament a settlement plan in the Donbass, which, in particular, provides for the autonomous status of the region.
