"We are witnessing and victims of a constant increase in violence in the social relationships and the behavior of our fellow citizens. How many colleagues must still be victims?" She asked, urging members of the opposition to "get out of their silence" and condemn these attacks.

Mr. Philippe saw through the aggression of the deputy the question of "the limit of what is acceptable in public debate", which leaves "no one indifferent".

The Prime Minister called for proscribing "the border of physical threat", "regardless of the parties to which we belong".

"We must say that the debate can be lively, that the controversy can be hard, that the challenge has the right to be intense, but that the border of the physical threat must be proscribed", he hammered .

Behind the respect of elected officials, it is "the defense of democracy" according to the Prime Minister, a fight for which all elected officials must show themselves "up to the task".

Applauded by the deputies of the majority, Edouard Philippe concluded by affirming that "this fight is that of all those who believe in democracy, sometimes threatened."
