Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his American counterpart Donald Trump discussed the latest developments in Libya and the Idlib region of Syria, in a telephone conversation between them at dawn today.

A statement issued by the Presidency of the Turkish Presidency Liaison Service said that Erdogan and Trump discussed the latest developments taking place in Libya and the Syrian Idlib, in addition to the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.

Commenting on the phone call, White House spokesperson, Judge Deer, said in a statement that the two leaders stressed the need to end foreign interventions in Libya and ensure a continued ceasefire in them.

They also stressed the need to end the ongoing attack on the Idlib region, at a time when Trump indicated the importance of resolving the differences between Turkey and Greece in the Mediterranean.

During the call, Trump offered his condolences to Erdogan for the victims of the earthquake that struck the southeastern province of Alazig and left 41 citizens dead.
