Citizens in the Emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah received yesterday, whose houses were damaged by heavy rains and floods of valleys that entered their homes in the last depression, financial compensation ranging from 20 thousand to 79 thousand dirhams, according to the damage caused to each house, according to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al-Khaimah, to pay compensation of nine million dirhams to those affected by the rains in the emirate during the last period.

Immediately after receiving the financial compensation, the affected citizens began purchasing new furniture and performing the necessary maintenance for their homes, after more than 120 families were evacuated in the Al-Fahalin residential area by the Emergency and Local Crisis Committee as a result of houses being affected by rain water and torrential valleys.

The official of the Al-Fahalin region, Hassan Al-Naqbi, told «Emirates Today» that a number of the affected citizens received the day before yesterday a text message from the Finance Department in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah asking them to come to the department and bring the ID card in order to receive financial compensation.

He explained that more than 190 homes in the Al-Fahalin area were affected by rain water and the floods of Wadi Naqab in the residential area, and that the Damage Survey Committee immediately after the end of the air depression and the stability of the weather monitored the damage in the homes of citizens in order to determine the financial compensation according to the damage in each house.

He explained that compensation was paid to the houses that were partially and completely damaged, while the houses that were entered by rain water and torrents were excluded without any damage, as were the livestock of the citizens that died in the low air from the compensation and the cars of the citizens that were sunk in the valleys, where they can resort to companies Insurance to monitor the case according to the procedures followed.
