A mother and three children got lost in the Amazon jungle for more than a month. The group had gone to visit family members on the border between Peru and Colombia and got lost on the way back, near the Putumayo River, reports the BBC.

They were finally found by members of the Peruvian indigenous Secoya tribe after 34 days. To survive, the mother and three children had to eat plants, berries and seeds.

"The girls couldn't walk anymore"

"If we couldn't drink water every thirty minutes, we would pass out," said the mother in a report by the Colombian media Caracol. “We had to stop all the time and the girls couldn't walk anymore. "

After finding the four missing people, the indigenous group warned the Peruvian navy. A Colombian army hovercraft came to recover them and bring them back to the country, where the mother and her three children were hospitalized. The whole family was in a state of malnutrition and dehydration. Their bodies were also covered with bites.
