Volodin said that through the development of inter-parliamentary relations everything necessary should be done to overcome the challenges faced by Russia and Iran.
“The formats that we are implementing, including the conference of speakers on regional cooperation and security, the meeting of speakers of Eurasia, show their effectiveness,” Volodin said.
He noted the great importance of cooperation in the Caspian region.
“Today we have a lot of work to do, within the framework of which we will hold a joint meeting of the inter-parliamentary commission so that through the prism of the parliamentary dimension we will try to do everything so that our relations develop, strengthen, and, of course, the challenges that our countries face, we could overcome together more effectively, ”the State Duma speaker added.
In turn, Ali Larijani noted that relations between Russia and Iran are developing "in a strategic direction."
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi said that Russia's presence in the Middle East could contribute to peace in the region.
