Like so many other virus outbreaks, Corona also originates from China. And most of the dispersion sticks to those areas. But a sick passenger on an airplane is enough for the infection to move to a whole new continent.

- First and foremost, we try to keep track of people who have been in the most vulnerable areas, says infection control physician Micael Wideström, at Östersund Hospital.

Suspected infected should contact 1177

Anyone who is suspected of being infected should first contact 1177. If it seems suspicious, the patient is sent to the infection site. There you are locked in through a special door and it is important if you are infected not to go and sit in a waiting room.

Then that patient can contribute to the spread of infection.

Regular mouthguards do not stop the virus

Many media data revolve around the need to obtain oral protection. Jessica Nääs is Head of Operations at the Infection Clinic. She does not place much faith in the mouthguards that the Chinese, for example, have in various TV elements.

- They can't stop a virus at all. Here in the department we have other mouthguards that can withstand viruses. In the first place they are used by the staff, but we can also put them on patients who are to be rolled through departments in the hospital, she explains
