Today, Monday, an Egyptian court upheld the ban on wearing the veil for members of the faculty at Cairo University.

And the Egyptian TV stated on its website, that the Supreme Administrative Court ruled to reject the appeal made by 80 veiled researchers at Cairo University, and to support the ruling issued by the court to support the decision of the President of Cairo University to ban the wearing of the veil for faculty members.

In a previous report, the Egyptian State Commissioners Authority recommended that the veil be banned, as it "affects the educational process and the speed of communication between the student and the teaching member," according to the report.

The Administrative Judicial Court ruled not to accept the cases brought by 80 veiled researchers at Cairo University, to cancel the university’s decision in 2015 regarding banning the veil for faculty members and the assisting body from postgraduate students within research laboratories and scientific training centers for postgraduate students.
