Prince Andrew has still not cooperated, as he said he would do, in the investigation of the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein, accused of trafficking minors, an American prosecutor said on Monday. "Prince Andrew has so far failed to cooperate," New York prosecutor Geoffrey Berman told reporters. His office and the United States Federal Police (FBI) have asked Queen Elizabeth II's son to testify about his dealings with Jeffrey Epstein, but have yet to receive a response. Contacted by Agence France-Presse (AFP), the Buckingham Palace did not immediately follow up.

Accused of having forced relations with a minor

Indicted in July 2019 for sexual assault by the Manhattan federal prosecutor, Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself in his cell on August 10, in New York. Prince Andrew found himself plunged into turmoil at the end of 2019 because of his proximity to Jeffrey Epstein. The Duke of York, 59, was accused by a woman recruited by the deceased financier of forcing her to have sex with him when she was a minor.

The second son of Queen Elizabeth II, known to snuff the company of the jet set, defended himself in a disastrous interview with the BBC, which precipitated his fall: he had to resign from his official functions and / or public.
