“So far, I can only say that there has still not been a decree on the release of Surkov from his duties,” Peskov said.
He explained that at the present moment Surkov "so far continues to be an assistant to the president of Russia."
When asked whether Surkov goes to work, the presidential spokesman replied that he couldn’t say for sure.
“I do not carry out the function of monitoring the attendance of the workplace,” Peskov said.
Earlier, the resignation of Surkov was announced by the director of the center for political conditions Alexei Chesnakov.
