Sunday, late morning, a motorist made a terrible exit from the road in the town of Viesly, near Cambrai, in the North, we learned from the firefighters. The toll is heavy: two dead, including a 15-year-old child.

Caudry and Solesmes' help was triggered at around 11:30 a.m. on departmental road 16 between Viesly and Bethencourt. For a reason that the investigation will have to determine, the car driven by a 42-year-old woman, with her two children on board, missed a turn, crossed the road to finish its race against a tree. According to the gendarmerie, no other vehicle was involved in this accident.

Doctors failed to resuscitate the two victims

When they arrived, the firefighters had to extricate the motorist and his son, who were seated in the back of the vehicle. Both were on cardiopulmonary arrest. Despite resuscitation attempts, the forties and the 15-year-old adolescent were declared deceased on the spot. The other teenage girl, seated in the front of the car, was slightly injured.

The latter must be heard by the gendarmes as part of the investigation to determine the circumstances of the tragedy. The family lives in Caudry, not far from the accident site.
