Washington (dpa) - The US Supreme Court has cleared the way for the application of stricter rules for legal immigration to the United States for the time being. The regulations of the government of US President Donald Trump stipulate that the authorities can refuse a permanent residence permit - the green card - if the applicants are dependent on state aid programs. The Supreme Court overturned a decision by an Appeals Court in New York that had stopped regulations from entering into force across the country.
