Goslar (dpa) - In order to prevent alcohol-related traffic accidents, new vehicles should in future be given an alcohol immobilizer. The insurers' accident research renewed this demand before the start of the traffic judge's court in Goslar on Wednesday. Drunk driving was the cause of around 13,500 personal injury accidents in Germany in 2018. "If all drunk drivers were prevented from starting a motor vehicle by the technology in this way, there would be no alcohol accidents with fatalities and injuries," said the head of accident research, Siegfried Brockmann.
