Many gray areas remain to be clarified as part of this investigation to understand the plans of the suspects and determine the role played by each. Three men were arrested last week in the suburbs of Lyon in a case of "association of criminals for the preparation of a crime", "arms trafficking" and "vehicle theft" .

These arrests were carried out by the gendarmes of the Lyon research section after a disturbing discovery made in a box in Tassin-la-Demi-Lune, a peaceful town north of Lyon.

Known justice suspects

In this garage located in a quiet artery of the city, the gendarmes, who had been investigating for a year, fell on three 9 mm pistols, a shotgun, a Kalashnikov magazine, ammunition and bullet-proof vests marked "police "Reports Le Progrès.

In the process, they arrested a man, owner of the box, and domiciled in the United States district in Lyon. The suspect, who has not been talked about since his last conviction in 2007, was indicted Friday for "criminal association for the preparation of a crime", "arms trafficking" and "theft of vehicles ”.

As part of the investigations, three vehicles stolen in the Val de Saône were indeed discovered in three other boxes belonging to the same owner and 80,000 euros were seized by the gendarmes. The suspect denied having stolen the body armor and would have admitted having acted as intermediary and lent his box.

Two other men were arrested last week and placed under investigation for criminal association. One of them was left free and placed under judicial supervision. But the second, suspected of being one of the lieutenants of the Lyonnais arrested and condemned multiple times in the past, was placed in pre-trial detention. The investigations will continue to determine the implication of each in this affair.
