Almost one year after the landowners applied for advance notice for five residential nights, Karlskrona municipality gets a backlash from the county administrative board on several points. These include, for example, beach shelters, stone walls and protected species.

But the building permit manager at the municipality's building permit department does not agree that they have done a poor site inspection.

- This is a first time for us. But if the county administrative board says that we have done wrong, then it is just to redo and do right. But we don't really know where we end up yet, ”says Anders Söderberg, building permit manager at Karlskrona Municipality.

Infected case

The issue of new residential areas in the area is sensitive and several neighbors of the planned development have protested against the plans, which were presented by the two landowners last year.

When they bought the land in 2013, they stated that the land would continue to be forest land, but in February 2019 they applied for an advance notice of five villas. The municipality then investigated whether it is appropriate to build on the site.

Unusual information

But despite the shore protection, ancient remains and protected species in the area, the municipality gave green light to the construction plans and urged landowners to proceed cautiously with a series of information.

- It is not uncommon to give information in an advance notice, but in this case there were very many. We felt that it could be solved, says Anders Söderberg.

"Inadequate investigation"

The County Administrative Board has now decided to cancel the municipality's positive advance notice and requests that a new, more thorough investigation be made and that several points must be investigated more properly.

- The information would have been a condition that "this must be clarified before you can proceed", explains Anders Söderberg.
