The staff has chosen to answer SVT Nyheter's questions via e-mail jointly and believes that they agree with their criticism of the cuts.

- We were very shocked and worried about how this would affect our clients, the staff writes in their response.

Security is feared to increase

The department has fears that insecurity will increase in the municipality if the field assistants are removed. No one will work night and night anymore, which means losing contact with police and young people after office hours.

A newly started youth café disappears. Housing support will also be affected by cuts. Housing support is an effort to support vulnerable people and help them to cope with their everyday lives.

"Kicks on those who lie"

- Our social housing will disappear. Hearing villagers who are furthest from the housing market lose one of the last resort when threatened with homelessness. The eviction prevention work will also disappear, which risks creating increased homelessness, the staff writes in an e-mail to SVT Nyheter.

- It feels like you are kicking at those who are already lying. Now more people will end up between the chairs.

Understand their concerns

Mona Olin (SD) is the chair of the Social Committee, and has a great understanding of the staff's concerns, but would like to emphasize that large parts of the municipality now have to save.

- The municipality has an assignment towards the citizens of Hörby. There are things that the municipality must do by law. Some things within the IFO unit are beyond this. It can be done by private actors or in collaboration with local associations. We would like to see increased cooperation between these, she says.

- For example, there is a church activity that works with young people. At the same time, Hörby Municipality runs a youth café on certain Fridays. Here, one could extend cooperation with other players, concludes Mona Olin (SD).

The staff fears there may be layoffs, but Mona Olin believes there may be staff redeployments.
