After retiring from competitive sport, in 2018, Bryant won the Oscar for the best animated short film for his film Dear Basketball.

Bryant's name has been closely linked to Italy. Father Joe played in the Italian championship and Kobe lived in our country from the age of 6 to 13 years, learning Italian perfectly.
