When it is winter without snow, it is usually still cold - then the mice get problems and freeze to death. But this year's mild, snowy winter means that the mice do not need any protection. They simply survive easier this winter.

Anders Brandin is noticing the increase in the number of mice because right now there are an extra number of remediation cases that apply to mice. Often, homeowners find that they have mice where there is something to eat. Indoors, therefore, they often look for the compost.

Are there any benefits of having a lot of mice?

- For the predators it is good that there are plenty of mice. For example, in Dalarna and Falun we have the rocky shore, which makes it much easier to get food now, says Anders Brandin.
