Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, five-time title holders in ice dance and favorites to keep it, were beaten by a Russian duo at the European Figure Skating Championships on Saturday in Graz (Austria), their first defeat in two years.

Papadakis and Cizeron, with a total score of 220.28, were outnumbered fourteen hundredths by Russians Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katstalapov (220.42). The two French dancers had not bowed since the Olympic Games-2018. And since 2014, their first winter in seniors, at European level.
