According to the Australian documentary "The Secrets of the Gaming Companies", ugly tricks that "near miss" can occur with certain gaming companies, so that the gambler continues to invest money.

"Game makers create near misses up to twelve times more often than if they were allowed to decide," says Kevin Harrigan, a gambling scientist at the University of Waterloo, Canada.

But according to Magnus Lannersund at Svenska Spel, "near misses" is nothing that happens on the slot machines in Sweden.

- Slot machines are games with higher risk and the games are designed so that things go fast and they should be fun. But our games are completely randomized. We no longer create close profits, says Magnus Lannersund, head of department at Vegas.

“Can do more”

In the Swedish market, Vegas is the only legal gaming machine and currently there are 4,300 gaming machines located in restaurants and bingo halls around Sweden.

- To play on our machines you have to log in with your bank ID and register, and depending on how much you play we will follow it up and contact the player. At an international level, we have come a long way in terms of gaming responsibility, but then you can always do more.
