• Catalonia.Lledoners grants a 72-hour permit to Jordi Cuixart

Although it had been granted for more than 10 days, former ANC President Jordi Sánchez left Saturday in Lledoners Prison, where he is serving a sentence for sedition after ruling by the Supreme Court, to enjoy his first permit of 48 hours granted by the General Secretariat of Penitentiary Measures of the Generalitat. In a message through social networks, Sànchez said that "I start the first two-day permit to be with the family. A permit is not freedom, it is a parenthesis of 48 hours after 19,944 hours in prison. Only the amnesty will return us freedom".

Sànchez, who can have these permits by being classified in the second penitentiary degree and having served a quarter of the sentence, also has a 72-hour permit pending the approval of the Jail Treatment Board but must validate the court of Penitentiary Surveillance. The former ANC leader left Lledoners accompanied by his wife and daughter.

He is not the first sovereign leader convicted of sedition who leaves prison for a permit. Eight days ago, the president of Òmnium Cultural, Jordi Cuixart. who also spent 48 hours away with his family.
