Norway, vice-world champion in 2017 and 2019, won the bronze medal at the Euro-2020 men's handball by winning against Slovenia 28 to 20, Saturday night in Stockholm.

Beaten at the end of an epic semi-final match by Croatia (29-28 after two extra time and a conceded goal three seconds before the end of the match), Norway's Sander Sagosen managed to re-mobilize to fetch a third podium in the last four international competitions.

Sunday at the end of the afternoon (4.30 p.m.), Croatia will challenge Spain, the continental title holder, for a European coronation and a direct place for the Tokyo Olympic Games (24 July-9 August).

Norway will however have to go through an Olympic Qualification Tournament (TQO) in mid-April at home.

Earlier in the afternoon, Germany beat Portugal (29-27) for honor to take 5th place in Euro-2020.

The Portuguese, one of the surprises of this competition, will contest a TQO in France at Paris-Bercy, with the vice-champion of Europe 2020, as well as France and an African team (either Tunisia, or Algeria, or Angola). The first two of this TQO will validate their place for Tokyo this summer.
