On Saturday morning, an alarm went off that the garbage in the heating plant at Mälarenergi started to burn. At most, four units from the rescue service were in place and they have now prevented the fire from spreading further and the situation is considered to be under control.
The fire in the plant that supplies Västeråsarna with heat and the fire caused a stop in one of the boilers but no total stop.
- There is a minor glow fire in the fuel preparation. It is still a small glow bed and we are left with a unit to keep track of for a while, says Jokim Lans, internal commander Räddsam Mälardalen.
