It has been the last two weeks that the pharmacy at Östra Sjukhuset in Gothenburg has noticed an increased demand for oral protection.

- We don't usually have as many in stock, two to three packages as we usually have for about two months, but now it is over with us and the supplier, says drug manager Sami Khoshaba.

When should you put the mouthguard back in stock?

- The message from the supplier is that it should be at the end of January. But it is preliminary so we do not know for sure, says Sami Khoshaba.

The mouthguards do not protect the wearer

Press officer at the pharmacy Magnus Frisk explains that there has been a marked increase throughout Sweden over the past week.

- It has shot up because of the corona virus. What is important to know is that these mouthguards are not designed to protect against airborne viruses, but primarily protect others from getting infected by you, says Magnus Frisk.
