An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in the eastern province of Turkey, Elazig in the evening of January 24 and was felt throughout the country. After the earthquake, 35 tremors with a magnitude of 2.7 to 5.4 were recorded.

According to the latest data, 21 people died as a result of the earthquake, another 1030 were injured.
