Deadly fall. A Briton who worked as a seasonal worker in the Méribel resort in Savoie was found dead Thursday evening at the foot of a rocky bar, no doubt victim of an accidental fall, we learned this Saturday from the gendarmes.

His body was found at the bottom of a precipice located four kilometers from the center of the station where the victim, of English origin, had been drinking before returning to his accommodation with a friend.

He wanted to go home

According to the first elements of the investigation, he would have lost himself while trying to return home in the middle of the night, then would have fallen heavily by cutting through a steep path "instead of following the road", said the gendarmes.

Significant means had been deployed to find him overnight, to no avail. The search resumed Thursday morning with the help of the helicopter of the Modane High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon, which finally located the victim at the end of the day.

An investigation, entrusted to the gendarmes, was opened by the parquet of Albertville to determine the circumstances of the accident.
