Nick Kyrgios (26th in the world) eliminated the Russian Karen Khachanov (17th) on Saturday in the 3rd round of the Australian Open after a very hung and very spectacular match won 6-2, 7-6 (7/5) , 6-7 (6/8), 6-7 (7/9), 7-6 (10/8) in 4:26.
The 24-year-old Australian will face the world No.1 Rafael Nadal for a place in the quarterfinals.
He has already reached the Grand Slam quarters twice (Wimbledon 2014 and Australia 2015), but never managed to go further. Last year, he was eliminated in the first round in Melbourne.
