24 January 202023.15 The death toll of the 6.8 earthquake in Turkey is worsening: at least 14 people have died, hundreds injured and several trapped under the rubble of buildings have collapsed. The earthquake occurred at 20.55 local time at a depth of 6.7km, near the city of Sivrice, in the province of Elazig, said the Authority for Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAT). The first shock was followed by numerous other aftershocks, the strongest with magnitude 5.4 and 5.1.
