It was in November that Linköping Municipality adopted a detailed plan with the aim of building 200 new student housing in the district of Ryd. But the current location is within an area affected by aviation noise from Malmen's airport. Nor did the Armed Forces accept the plan, because it was pointed out as a national interest.
The County Administrative Board Östergötland announces that it understands the municipality's argument, but that the interest of the defense force weighs more heavily.
The municipality can appeal against the County Administrative Board's decision.
