The final of the Euro-2020 football which will be played on July 12 in London will be broadcast in clear on M6, the group announced in a statement on Friday.

The groups TF1 and M6 had explained in November that they would share the retransmissions in France of a selection of posters of the competition which is due to start on June 12.

In its press release, M6 specifies that it will broadcast, in addition to the final, a match of the group stage of the French team, "five other of the best group matches", 2 eighth finals, 1 quarter final and 1 semi-final, 11 matches in total.

The M6 group shares with TF1 the free-to-air broadcast of the football Euro since 2008. For the 2020 edition, they share the broadcast of 23 free-to-air matches, which they present as the best posters of the competition and which include all matches of the France team.

The competition will also be broadcast in France in its entirety on the beIN Sports encrypted bouquet, on the model of the 2012 and 2016 editions.

M6 had broadcast the final of Euro-2016 organized in France, during which Portugal won against the Blues. The channel had gathered 20.8 million viewers that evening, the group said.

None of the amounts disbursed this year for the acquisition from UEFA of the television rights to this competition have been disclosed.
