In May of last year, the pediatrician was convicted of gross rape against two of the children as well as for gross sexual abuse or other sexual offenses against another 48 children. The majority of the crimes were committed in medical examinations.
The abuse took place in different parts of Sweden: Skellefteå, Jönköping, Skövde and Stockholm as well as in the medical profession Kry. The penalty: ten years in prison, SEK 3.5 million in damages and life imprisonment.
The doctor, who claims he is innocent, appealed the verdict and at 11am on Friday the verdict is announced at Svea High Court.
"The High Court has convicted the doctor of gross rape against two children and of gross sexual abuse or other sexual offenses against 43 children. On the other hand, the High Court has acquitted the physician of the charges of sexual offenses against the children's parents, ”writes the High Court and continues:
"The High Court has held that the doctor's conduct has not violated the parents' sexual integrity. The doctor is sentenced to seven years in prison and life imprisonment. The doctor must also pay damages to the children he has been subjected to sexual offenses ”.
