A fifth of Dutch entrepreneurs do not know what the upcoming transition phase after the Brexit means for the company, reports the Chamber of Commerce (KVK) on Friday based on its own survey. There are still entrepreneurs who are not prepared for the British departure from the European Union.
This share has remained the same since the last survey. 17 percent of the entrepreneurs said they were not prepared for the Brexit. A third is well prepared and half says they are "somewhat" prepared for new trade relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union.
The UK leaves the EU at midnight on 31 January. This is the Brexit a fact, but there is still a transition period in which the British and European leaders discuss how they will further shape their relationship.
Around 38 percent of entrepreneurs use the transition period to prepare themselves or make better preparations. Incidentally, the same percentage expects that the transition period will eventually be extended.
