French handball players, Olympic vice-champions in 2016, will have to compete in a qualifying Olympic qualification tournament (TQO) with notably the European vice-champion (Spain or Croatia) and Portugal with only two places available, in mid-April in their lair of Paris-Bercy.

Only a coronation from Norway at Euro-2020 in Stockholm could offer an easier TQO to the men of Didier Dinart, but the victory of Croatia (29-28) after two overtime in the semifinals against Norway, has a little clouded the picture.

The Blues will therefore have to face Portugal, their executioner at the opening of the European Championship, the vice-champion of Europe 2020, namely Spain or Croatia, as well as the vice-champion of Africa 2020, namely the Egypt or Tunisia.

It will be necessary to finish in the first two of this TQO in Bercy from April 17 to 19, which will be the last chance to qualify for the JO-2020 and go to Tokyo this summer.
