According to El Comercio, a tanker truck crashed into a car repair shop building on the outskirts of Lima.
The collision led to an explosion and a fire that spread to nearby residential buildings.
As a result of the accident, at least eight people were killed and 40 were injured.
It was previously reported that as a result of a fire on a plantation in Venezuela, 12 people were killed.
