He announced this on his Facebook page.

“We flew to Israel and learned that many of those who survived this terrible tragedy find it difficult to get to the World Holocaust Forum because of the huge interest in the event and the limited number of places. I decided to transfer my place and places of the Ukrainian delegation to these courageous, unique people, ”the president wrote.

He also noted that this act does not mean that the Ukrainian delegation does not honor the memory of those killed and injured during the Nazi repression. Ukrainian politicians will take part in all planned events.

“But those who deserve it more should get to the main event,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Israeli Foreign Ministry issued a statement stating that "the persons responsible for the murders of Jews during the Holocaust and pogroms, as well as the anti-Semitic ideologists of the Ukrainian national movement, have recently become the object of public worship in Ukraine."

On January 20, Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Joel Lyon said that in Krivoy Rog, unidentified persons desecrated a monument to Holocaust victims.

In November 2019, in Kiev, unknown vandals painted a monument to the Jewish writer Sholom Aleichem with a swastika.

In October 2019, in the Ukrainian city of Uman, a man painted graffiti depicting the head of Nazi Germany Adolf Hitler on the wall, which is located on the territory of compact residence of Bratslav Hasidim.

In August 2019, in the Nikolaev region, unknown people drew a swastika and left insulting inscriptions on the monument to the victims of the Holocaust. Later in the same region, vandals desecrated another monument dedicated to the Jews, and also threatened Zelensky.
