It is noted that in the State Department documents that regulate the issuance of tourist visas, “a new paragraph (iii) has been added providing for the possibility of checking whether any person applying for a visa is an immigrant whose purpose in traveling to the United States is to obtain US citizenship for a child ... This rule expressly establishes that patrimonial tourism is not permissible (for the issue of a “B” visa) ”.
In August 2019, U.S. leader Donald Trump said that authorities were considering the possibility of canceling the provision of American citizenship by birth right in the country.
