Offer them lodging, they will delight you in the shelter! Two young chefs took on the somewhat crazy challenge of going around the world by going to sleep with the locals ... in exchange for a meal. In France, Switzerland and Italy for three weeks, they will finish their warm-up on Thursday in Nice. Before leaving in March for Canada, the starting point of their real journey which they tell on Facebook (We cook 2 meet).

“The idea is to meet around something friendly. Cooking is a bit of a universal language, suggests Clément Gonnet, 26, originally from Montpellier like his acolyte Franck Ferrari, 25. And several people have already played the game. ”

Before their own restaurant

“We were hitchhiking in Milan and a man put us in a nice car. In fact, it was a hotelier from Monza who liked the project and offered us six nights in exchange for a big meal for 20 people. For which, the two cooks put the small dishes in the big ones. Cream of smoked mushrooms, zucchini flowers stuffed with scallops and shortbread, clementine mousse.

The adventure before opening a restaurant

“There, we had beautiful products available. But the concept is to do with what is in the fridge of our host, says Clément Gonnet. In Annecy, at a student who welcomed us, we still managed to get a dish of bulgur like a risotto, head of monk and marinated chicken. "

The two friends, holders of a baccalaureate in hospitality and catering, imagined this adventure before opening their own restaurant. And not necessarily in France. “In March, we will leave from Quebec. We will descend to Argentina. Then we will go to South Africa and surely elsewhere. We plan to do this for at least a year, but it may be three or four. And if we like a place, we will settle there. In the meantime, they will take French cuisine around the world.
