The Crown Magistrate has compiled statistics for the years 2017-2019 and it shows that the number of indebted persons is decreasing at the same time as the total debt is increasing. It is about that there are fewer debtors but that those who are there have higher debts.
In Härjedalen, Krokom and Strömsund, however, the total debt has decreased, in Krokom the reduction has been disturbed; 35 percent.
Across the country, men account for 62 percent of debt and women account for 38 percent.
On the Kronofogden website, analyst Johan Krantz has commented on the difference between men and women.
- For example, men are severely over-represented when it comes to crime and vehicle related debts as well as maintenance support debts. Among women, debts linked to online commerce and lenders are more common, says Johan Krantz.
