“We discussed the latest developments around the Korean Peninsula and possible steps by interested parties to advance the process of political and diplomatic settlement of the problems of the subregion,” the press release says.
Russia and the United States emphasized the need to continue “tight coordination” with all parties involved.
Earlier, South Korean leader Moon Jae-in praised the prospects for dialogue with North Korea.
Russia's Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, in turn, urged diplomats to intensify efforts to prevent tensions on the Korean peninsula.
