Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is seriously considering launching the Boeing 787 Dreamliner presidential plane to withdraw a lottery ticket of $ 27, after putting it up for sale for almost a year without a serious buyer yet, where only one lucky winner can own this plane . This is what some people do when they can't find a buyer for expensive items that they put on sale.

Now it seems that the Mexican President has been inspired by these ideas, and "Bloomberg" confirmed this news. The plan includes selling lottery tickets for 500 pesos (about $ 27) per ticket. It is hoped to sell six million tickets to recover the value of the plane. Some sources say that the president offered to give the lucky winner free operating time for a year if the winner does not have the funds to operate the plane.

Some believe that having a fully equipped Boeing 787 at the president's disposal would be a good thing for him, but this president looks at things very differently from the former President of Mexico, Enrique Pena Netto, who bought this plane. When Peña Neto took over the plane in 2016, it was estimated to cost about $ 218 million, making it one of the most expensive Presidential aircraft in the world. Pena Neto enjoyed the prestige, luxury and protection of a high ranking political person in his position, and used it on many trips around the world.

As for Obrador, on the contrary, he believes that austerity is the best for the president, believes in saving money and not wasting it, and pledges to travel on official business on commercial planes, in economy class, and says he will never set foot inside this plane. He believes it is a symbol of "extravagance and corruption" in a country where more than half of its population lives in poverty. Since taking office, Obrador has sold a number of government planes and helicopters. According to him, he often traveled on commercial flights, reduced his own salary, as well as laid off a number of presidential security personnel, in order to fulfill his promise during the presidential campaign.

The president transported this plane to South California Logistics Airport about nine months ago, in the hope that it will have a greater chance of finding a buyer from there. The plane that was stored in the 42nd Aircraft Barn attracted a number of potential buyers. The Mexican government says that 12 of them have made requests that they intend to buy, and that six of them have made a higher price than the plane's value, but for one reason or another, the sale has never been completed. Over time, the cost of maintenance and storage of the aircraft continued to rise. All in all, storing the plane in California cost the country another $ 1.5 million, which is a strong reason to return it from the United States of America. Along with the clouds, the president has brought up many other ideas about the plane, including renting it by the hour, or selling it to a group of businessmen.
